Why is it, that we don't collect reports of environmental diseases?  Environmental standards are based on much scantier data than medicinal prescriptions. Yet, so-called pharmacovigilance systems to monitor adverse side-effects of drugs, after they have been put on the market are considered indispensable in public health. Shouldn't we have a similar environmental vigilance system as well?

If you think we should, please attend our workshop on Tuesday 22nd room H30, at14.00. This workshop is organised by EEN and MNGM and will present you results of an environmental vigilance system in the Netherlands. We'd appreciate your input on how to implement such a system Europe-wide!!

One striking result of the Dutch project is the existence of extremely vulnerable groups. People that become moderately to severely ill from omnipresent exposure to pollution or electromagnetic fields. We take this as a not-to-be ignored signal of inadequate standards in an increasingly vulnerable population. Please come and share your experiences!
